December Book of the Month!

To go along with the Christmas Holiday, we have chosen The Tale of Despereaux for the month of December.

A very brave gentlemen mouse meets and instantly falls in love with a princess by the name of Pea. Pea gets kidnapped and Despereaux realizes that he is the only one that can rescue her, and that even the tiniest, cutest mouse can find the courage of a knight in shining armor.

This book will be a fast read and the movie comes out December 19, 2008.

November book of the month

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the time of year that we all take a small moment and be thankful for all that we have, we are choosing The Sunflower by Richard Paul Evans as the book of the month. Its about two girls who go to Peru on a group trip for charity. They work at an ophanage and meet someone who changes their lives.

October Book of the Month

We have decided to choose the newest book by Nicholas Sparks, "The Lucky One".

Not really familiar with the book, but I do know that it is about a man that has a brush with death and that leads him to the love of his life.

If you are a Nicholas Sparks fan like I am, then I'm sure you will not be dissapointed in this choice of book.

If you do decide to read it, any feedback is appreciated.

Better late then never...

Yes, it has been 3 months since our last post. I guess you could say we have been busy. We are truly sorry!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good read for Halloween? If you love halloween as much as we do, I'm sure you can come up with something.

July Book of the month..

Sorry about the lack of posting. It is hard to keep up with stuff like this, but we will try and be better. :) So, we have chosen The Book Thief as the July book of the month. Bethie has been wanting to read this book for awhile now, so now is her chance...get busy girl!! lol
The Book Thief is about a 9 year old girl that goes to Germany to live with a foster family and she has just stolen her first book, even though she has not yet learned how to read. Her foster father uses the book to help put her to sleep when she has nightmares about her younger brothers death. Throughout the years, she steals more books and makes more friends.
I don't know much more about the book, so get busy reading and don't forget to share your thoughts! :)

April Book of the Month

This month I am choosing a book that I have always wanted to read but never have. And it is my birthday month so it is my choice :). I have seen this movie, usually after I have seen the movie I just can't get into the book but I am determined to read this. I know the book and the movie differ but my favorite quote in the movie is when Mr. Darcy is trying to tell Elizabeth that he loves her, " You have bewitched me body and soul and I love, I love....I love you." It will be different in the book I know but the feeling and emotions are still there. I am excited to read this and hear from anyone else who has read it already.

March Book of the Month

So,we decided that this month we would mix it up a little and think of a book that we have read in school and that we really enjoyed reading. If you haven't read this book yet, make sure you have some kleenexes handy.
I remember reading this in the 5th grade, about 6 years ago I decided to read it again just to see if it really was as good as I remembered...I cried more then the first time I read it. It really is worth reading at least once.
All i will say is it is about a boy and his two dogs.

February Book of the Month

Our book for the month of February is The Notebook. Noah Calhoun and Allie Nelson, two North Carolina teenagers fall in love and then don't meet up until 14 years later when Noah is restoring the house of his dreams.

Most likely this book has already been read but hey its February we have to read it! :) This may be a quick read for some so if you have the time this month check out The Wedding by the same author. It is a sequal to The Notebook.

Please feel free to make comments and/or observations as we read the book. Or comment on someone elses comment.
